Klamath Falls 10/6/12 287 miles
We had a great finish to our 3 races series today! Eight birds came on the drop at 2:45 and will split the points. The first bird through the trap didn't return from the Redding race until 9/30, but came roaring back to give new fancier, Randy Sims, first in the clock. Chuck Hughes bred the next two birds through the stalls; ML 0205 and 0206. Sam & Phyllis Rodriques scored again this week and for the second year in a row. Bill Traw's GHC 9987 came again for two weeks in a row! Carl Hanson's MAN 20303 hit first for the second week also. Carl just sold his entire young bird team. Last night at the Manteca shipping, he sold any birds on his team the club members wanted and flew the rest from Klamath Falls today. All returned in good time and were sold as they hit the board.
If you want to make an offer on his winner here, bidding started at $100.00. He does not want any young birds, because he doesn't intend to fly old birds. Bob, my partner here, bought 4 birds, two of which were first and second combine! Winston Alegre's WSJ 0658 came next with an equal first. Bringing up the rear of the first drop was Marty Hansen's ARPU 41656 trapping 14 seconds after the first bird in the drop.
At 14:48:54, the second drop came with Jesus Reye's MAN 21354 and GADD A-B's SOC 20590. Then three more birds came for the 3rd drop at 14:50; Mike Gonigan's MAN 20619, Zack Jones' MTZ 0724, and Winston Alegre's WSJ 0655 clocked in 3 seconds. Ken Chhi's FMT 0388 came at 14:58 and Vince Meadows' FOY 3253 came at 15:00 with Giancarlo Fernandez's ARPU 47472.
Shirley Severns' MAN 20077, Gadd A-B's SOC 20594, and Jesse & Roy's MAN 21313 came together at 15:35. The trapping stopped at this point, until John Duffy's AVO 0488 hit the stalls at 18:58. John's bird was entered, but not sent to either of the earlier races. It went to the Chico toss of 140 miles and had trouble putting on weight when it returned. So, it jumped from 140 miles several weeks ago to 287 miles today; quite a bird.
We had 20 of 25 birds on the day.

These are the day birds from today's race. I did not knock the clock off as we hope to have more birds coming. All 4 races released with our group were disappointing, but this one was a shocker... Sorry, I hope we'll have bundle tomorrow. The first bird in the clock is injured and was not shipped to the race. We'll be up early looking for birds.

We picked up 3 more birds since my last report. All are flying well around the loft.
Bob trained the birds from Elkhorn Blvd. yesterday. All came fine.
Another bird, ARC 7035 trapped in 10/1/13 about 11 a.m.
It's in good shape and was trained from Elkhorn Blvd. yesterday.

Weed race 2 10/5/13
Fortune smiled on 6 birds again today as they swooped directly over the loft, made a half circle, and all trapped in 5 seconds starting at 12:55:55. The results are below; please disregard the first three birds as they were not in the race. The third bird, FMT 199, just returned while the race was in progress. We continue to receive lost birds and hopefully, the next one will be yours!
Congratulations to the owners of the six winners today. Each earned $500.00 for this race.

12 of 14 second race birds have returned now.
Also another bird from the first race returned today, MAN 30820, in good condition.
Klamath Falls, OR Race 3 10/19/13
We had 2 birds on the drop today. Dan Severns' MAN 31980 was on the first drop in all 3 races and takes FIRST place in Average Speed. Mike Belus' Diablo 0310 sailed in with Dan's bird to secure first drop also. All but the last day bird trapped in 17 minutes. We thought we might have more birds repeating their Average Speed performance, but it wasn't to be today.
We picked up 4 birds the second day as seen below.
